This wedding was easily one of the most fun I've ever photographed. There was a little bit of everything: whimsy, a little rain, blue drinks, dogs (in hats!), babies, sunshine just in time, all of the good things.
I love weddings on the Northside! The wedding was at the Loudoun House, which is a lovely venue for a wedding. We were out taking bride and groom shots when it started to rain. Thankfully we were able to duck into the Kentucky Fun Mall for some photos. If you haven't been there you need to check it out - I've heard they have skeeball now!
Thank you so much Laney & Wes for having me document your day! xoxo
I loved this fall engagement session from last year. It was everything that you want in a fall day - crisp cool air, changing leaves, and plaid! We had our shoot at the Kentucky Horse Park, which is beautiful. I'm looking forward to October - it's my favorite time of year!
This was the sweetest first birthday party! It was at Crank & Boom Ice Cream Lounge in the Distillery District in Lexington. It is an amazing space - the light up there is incredible! Nora's mom, Shanon, is a wonderful party planner. She is an artist and you can definitely see it in the details. And Nora's dad, Ben, made the dollhouse and Shanon made the dolls and furniture! So adorable!
This engagement session was special because it took place on Emily's family's farm, and that is where they'll be getting married in a few weeks! I love shooting in new places, and I especially love that Apollo was there. Dogs and engagement sessions go together so well.
Another sunrise session! Though this one was a little more difficult. We rescheduled this engagement session several times starting in April (!) and always got rained out. This morning didn’t seem to be different but we decided to forge ahead and do it no matter what. Laney and Wes’ wedding is coming up in October and we were running out of time. Sometimes my favorite photos come out of less than ideal situations and this was definitely one of those times! It was still pretty dark when we started and the humidity was intense. But I love how the photos turned out – Laney and Wes are so fun and I would love it if all my future brides and grooms were covered in tattoos! I can’t wait for their fall wedding – I know it’s going to be beautiful.
